The Style Bloggers of Color conference kicked off this past weekend with 100+ bloggers at INK! Art Gallery in Castleberry Hill in Atlanta. With a slew of fantastic panelists and inspiring keynote speaker, Claire Sulmers of The Fashion Bomb, the weekend was sure not to disappoint.
The weekend kicked off with Mattiepalooza Fashion Show featuring Atlanta Style Bloggers and models from the James Taylor firm. ASBers wore shoes from conference sponsor, Sole Society and threads from local designers.
The following day, the conference was brought to attendees by Bronner Bros. The conference began with panelists such as Marie Denee of The Curvy Fashionista, Nicole Garner of The Garner Circle, Myleik Teele of curlBOX, Amber McKinnon of Brown Bombshell Beauty & many more. These amazing ladies and gent (stylist Charles Wade) shared advice and stories on panels such as – Checkmate: If Content Is King, Consistency Is Queen, Media Presence: How To Be Irresistible On Social Media, Build & Brand: What Brands Want From You & How To Build Your Own & Blog It To The Bank: How To Really Make Money Blogging. Attendees enjoyed lunch and stayed cool with conference sponsor, Smartwater. Gift bags were provided by Nakate and Sole Society.
Later that evening, Curls Night Out was brought to attendees by conference partner, Beautiful Textures. Beauty expert, Kimberly Walker (EBONY.com) provided complimentary consultations at the Curl Bar while vendors and attendees alike enjoyed the tunes spun by DJ Olu. The evening was co-hosted by natural hair vlogger, Mae of Natural Chica while attendees had the chance to win giveaways from Bronner Bros, Lamik Beauty, curlBOX and Sole Society.
To wrap up, the weekend ended on Sunday during the Style Bloggers of Color Awards Luncheon. Keynote speaker Claire Sulmers, shared her story and the 3 things she believes makes a blogger successful while taking home the coveted “Blogger of the Year” award.
